What the padlock (SSL) means
Why your site shows a padlock, and what to do if it doesn't.
The padlock next to your web address shows that your site uses SSL: the connection between your visitors and your site is encrypted, so things like contact forms and payments can't be read on the way.
You don't need to do anything
Every site we host has SSL included, and the certificate renews automatically.
Why it matters
- Browsers warn people away from sites without it, showing Not secure.
- Google prefers secure sites in search results.
- It's needed to take payments.
If the padlock is missing
- Just moved your domain to us? The certificate is made once your domain points at us, which can take a few hours.
- Seeing "Not secure" on one page? Something on it, like an image or embedded form, may be loading insecurely.
Either way, send us a request with the page's address and we'll sort it.
